Concert Report: Electric Daisy Carnival - Puerto Rico (San Juan)

Greetings from hot and humid San Juan where I attended Electric Daisy Carnival - Puerto Rico last night and into the wee hours of this morning ....along with 25,000 others! It was miserable and it was great!

Miserable because most people had "Will Call" tickets which required lining-up to obtain them. The line got so long that they gave up and simply came outside and handed out tickets to anyone with a receipt!  Another line for security to get inside got so long that they gave that up too and just let everyone come in that had a ticket.  The huge crowd was then squeezed into the relatively small area at the Pan American Pier located on San Juan's harbor.  Carnival rides and food booths competed for the limited space.

Many did dress-up for the occasion!
After finally making it inside, DJ duo Savoy (USA) playing House & Dubstep upon my arrival.

The event began at 4pm but I did not arrive until around 8pm.  And with all the queing, did not actually get inside until closer to 10pm!
Good idea of how crowded it was!
DJ R3HAB (NL) was up next and he continued with a mostly House/Progressive House mix.  And Dubstep too.
He was really getting into his set!
Did I mention the drinking age in Puerto Rico is 18?  And there did not seem to be any enforcement. "Kids" that looked 16 were drinking beer.  The smell of pot was pervasive.
Impressive lighting effects at the main stage.

You can never go wrong with Go Go girls!
DJ Thomas Gold (D) was up next!
His all-Dance/House set was really popular with the crowd.
The German DJ has been making quite a name for himself in the past year!  The support he's gotten from Swedish House Mafia has garnered him a lot of attention!  And he deserves it.
His set kept building and building the momentum.
Thanking everyone during his encore song.
The show's headliner Kaskade (USA) came on just after 1:15am. Never could get any decent pictures of him.
He and David Guetta are probably the two biggest-name DJ's that have not played Orlando!
'Fire In Your New Shoes" was the first of his many hits that he played.  But he's mostly-known his biggest hits 'Move For Me' and 'I Remember.'
The area had gotten beyond jammed for his performance!
Hopefully he will be included at EDC-Orlando in November!
Caught DJ Lauren Lane (USA) at the NeonGARDEN stage as I headed to the exits. This was the only other outdoor stage.  The BassPOD and CircuitGROUNDS stages were actually inside two of the cruise ship terminals.  And had air conditioning!
Her Deep House music set was impressive with a very unique vibe to it!  This was the surprise of the night!

Hope she'll make an appearance in Orlando sometime soon too!  At this point, after standing on concrete for nearly 6 hours, I finally gave it up and headed back to my hotel in Condado. I thus missed Dash Berlin (NL) but I couldn't hang any longer.
Puerto Rico definitely knows how to party!  A good time was had by all!
