Club Reports: Vain, Suite B, The Beacham, Independent Bar

Florida Classic weekend in Orlando which means the annual football game between two historically black college football teams from Bethune-Cookman University of Daytona Beach against Florida A&M University of Tallahassee.  After the game that means a very packed downtown area including this long line outside one of the entrances to club Vain (formerly Lyrica, formerly Cairo).

But no Hip Hop inside Suite B Lounge which is home to electronic dance music only.

DJ OAM of Orlando was playing a mix of heavy Progressive House with nearly all the songs truncated.

Interestingly a mix of old Snoop Doggy Dog songs got the biggest favorable reaction during my visit!

Those looking for Hip Hop at The Beacham (formerly Tabu, formerly The Beacham Theater) faced a long wait as the line stretched all the way down the block for DJ Richie Rich!

Disorganization at the front of the line.

Orange Avenue was closed to traffic due to the crowds. Don't forget the AAHZ Reunion here this coming Wednesday night, Thanksgiving Eve featuring DJ Dave Cannalte from Mannequins along with DJ's Kimball Collins and Chris Fortier!

Over at Endent Bar (formerly Independent Bar, formerly Barbarella) the music was all 80's early-MTV classics!  The new Barbarella night club in Tampa's Ybor City club district opens this coming Wednesday night. Hope to get over to TPA in the near future to check it out as it's going to follow I-Bar's music format.

DJ Dem Rok taking the controls over from DJ Indie John shortly after midnight.

Not as crowded as some Saturday nights but hardly empty either.

The view from above.

The motley crew! (Not to be confused with Mötley Crüe.)

And after 2am the Royal Orlando Mounted Police (ROMP) were moved in to clear Orange Avenue. Fun times in Techno Town!
